1. Who you are dealing with
The Solid Rock Remodeling Services is the trade name of The Solid Rock Remodeling Services, LLC, owned by Tony Wilson and registered as a Pennsylvania home improvement contractor under PA HIC #PA093346. The business does drywall hanging, finishing, repair and patching, plastering, interior and exterior painting including decks, carpentry and small repairs, and kitchen, bathroom and basement remodeling.
These terms cover this website and the work the business takes on. "We" and "us" mean The Solid Rock Remodeling Services. "You" means the person hiring us. Using this site or hiring us means you accept these terms, alongside the written contract for your job.
2. Estimates
Estimates are free and there is no obligation. Call, text or email, tell us about the job, and you get a number.
A number given over the phone, by text or from photos is an estimate. It stays an estimate until the job has been looked at in person. If what we find changes the price, you hear the new number before any work happens.
Every job is priced on its own. A price given for one job is not a price for the next one.
3. The best-price guarantee
Tony's offer, in his words: "Get your two estimates, then call me and I'll guarantee you the best price, apples to apples." Apples to apples means the same scope of work, compared line for line.
4. Written contracts
Home improvement work is put in a written contract, as Pennsylvania's Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act requires. The contract describes the work, the price and the schedule, and it governs your job. Where the contract and these terms differ, the contract wins.
5. Changes to the job
If you add to the job, change a finish or a color after work starts, or ask for something the contract did not include, that is a change and it is priced and agreed in writing before we carry on.
You will not get a surprise on the invoice. You will get a call first.
6. Hidden conditions
Walls, ceilings and floors hide things until they are opened: water damage, rot, mold, old wiring or plumbing, damaged framing, or earlier repairs done badly. If we find something like that, we stop, show you, and tell you what it takes to deal with it before any extra work happens. Work that has to be done by a licensed electrician, plumber or other specialist is quoted by them or arranged separately.
7. Materials and colors
Paint colors, sheens and finishes are chosen by you. Colors can look different on the wall than on a chip or a screen, so we recommend testing a sample area before a whole room is painted. Materials you supply yourself are your responsibility; if they turn out to be unsuitable, we will tell you before using them.
Drywall finishing and plaster repair blend new work into old surfaces as closely as the existing walls allow. Old plaster and previously patched walls can still show a difference in texture under some light.
8. Access to your home
You agree to give us reasonable access to the work area during the agreed working times, with a clear path to it. Please move valuables, fragile items and furniture out of the work area before the job starts where you can.
9. Payment
Payment terms, including any deposit, are set out in the written contract for your job. There is no online checkout and no card processing on this website. Nothing on this site charges you.
10. Scheduling
Any start date or timeframe we give you is an honest estimate. Weather for exterior work and decks, drying and curing times for mud, plaster and paint, material availability and hidden conditions can all move a date. If your job has a real deadline, say so up front so we can tell you honestly whether we can hit it.
11. Limitation of liability
Our responsibility for a job is limited to the work itself: correcting it, or refunding what you paid for the part of the job in question, whichever fits the situation. Bring a concern to us and we will look at it.
We are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses connected to a job, for conditions that existed before we started and were outside the agreed work, for materials you supplied, or for damage caused by how the finished work is used or maintained afterward. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Pennsylvania law that cannot be limited.
12. This website
This site is provided as it is. We keep the information here accurate, but we do not guarantee it is free of errors or always available. Nothing on this site is a quote or a contract. Reviews shown on the site are quoted from Networx as the customers wrote them.
The text and design of this site belong to The Solid Rock Remodeling Services and are not to be copied for other use.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute connected to a job or to this site belongs in the state or federal courts serving Pennsylvania.
14. Updates to these terms
These terms can change. The version posted here, with the date at the top of the page, is the one that applies. The terms in effect when your contract was signed are the ones that govern that job.
